A tank, measuring
70 x 40 x 40cm (27.5 x 16 x 16"), fitted with a cover, a controlled
heating device and a circulation pump, is used to assess the resistance
of coatings, notably to blistering, when immersed in water.
Coated metal
sheets are laid at an angle of 15° - 20° on a grooved bottom
and fully immersed in deionised water, warmed at 40°±
1°C (104º F ± 2ºF).
Once a predetermined
time is reached, the samples are removed and the coating is inspected.
Supplied with
an adjustable overheating safety system.
