There are a number of specific tests on wet coating films: e.g. levelling, sagging, drying time, etc. These tests are described in Standard Test Methods such as ASTM D 4062, ASTM D 4400 and DIN 55677.

Reproducibility of test results require film casting practice, consisting techniques, etc. The use of a motorised film applicator is strongly recommended.
